Private therapy suite prepared for a massage at Vaayu Wellness Spa, Gachibowli

Which massage should you actually book?

Most people book whichever name they recognise. That works out fine, but there is a better way to choose — start from what you actually want to feel afterwards, and work backwards.

Start with the outcome, not the name

“I want to switch off.” Swedish massage, 60 or 90 minutes. Light to medium pressure, long flowing strokes, no negotiation over how much it hurts.

“Something is stuck and it has been for months.” Deep tissue, 90 minutes. Slower and firmer, targeted at the specific area rather than covering everything.

“I am not sleeping well.” Aromatherapy with lavender, 60 or 90 minutes, ideally an evening booking.

“I feel tight everywhere, not one place.” Balinese, 90 minutes. Firm broad pressure plus stretching, full body.

“I trained hard and I ache.” Jacuzzi first, then deep tissue. The warm water does half the work before the therapist starts.

“It is our anniversary.” Couple massage in the private suite, with the jacuzzi added beforehand.

Pressure, honestly compared

Light to medium — Swedish, aromatherapy. Comfortable throughout. You may fall asleep.

Medium to firm — Balinese. Noticeably more pressure, but spread over broad palm and forearm contact so it never feels sharp.

Firm and targeted — deep tissue. Strong sustained pressure on specific points. Should be productive discomfort, never pain.

You can always ask for lighter or firmer mid-session. Any of these therapies can be dialled up or down, so the name you booked is a starting point rather than a contract.

How long to book

30–45 minutes — focused work on one area, or a jacuzzi session. Not enough for a full body.

60 minutes — the standard. Full body at a comfortable pace, or one or two problem areas properly addressed.

90 minutes — the best value in our menu. Enough time for the problem area and the rest of you. If you are choosing between 60 and 90 and can afford the extra, take the 90.

120 minutes — unhurried full-body work with real time on feet, hands and scalp.

When to tell us something

Always mention: pregnancy, recent surgery, injuries, blood thinners, high or low blood pressure, skin conditions, and any allergy to scented products. None of these mean you cannot have a massage — they change which therapy and which pressure is appropriate.

Also worth saying: whether you prefer quiet or conversation, whether you dislike having your feet or scalp touched, and whether you are cold. All of it is easy to accommodate if we know.

Still not sure?

Pick “Not sure — recommend me” on the booking form, or just describe the problem when you message us. “Desk job, right shoulder is killing me, two hours free on Saturday” tells us more than a therapy name would.

Our front desk will suggest a therapy and duration, and your therapist will confirm it during the consultation before anything begins.

Common questions

For general muscular back tightness from posture or stress, deep tissue at 90 minutes is usually the right choice. If the pain is sharp, radiating down a leg, or follows an injury, see a doctor or physiotherapist first — massage supports recovery but is not a substitute for diagnosis.

A 60-minute Swedish. It is comfortable, covers the full body, and gives you a baseline to judge everything else against. You can always go firmer next time.

For a full-body relaxation massage, yes. For targeted work on a stubborn area plus general coverage, 90 minutes is noticeably better — at 60 something always gets rushed.

Yes, at any point. Therapists expect it and would much rather adjust than have you endure something uncomfortable. Just say “lighter” or “firmer” — no explanation needed.
